Training Events
Building an efficient
training program can
seem overwhelming. but
with proper planning and
support, your training
program can be
effective, efficient and
fulfill certifying
agency requirements.
Many of our aviation
clients use on-the-job
training (OJT) as a
significant part of
their training program.
Once the foundation of a
training program is
developed through the
Job Task Assessments, we
focus on the development
of a structured OJT (SOJT)
training curriculum that
validates and confirms
the skill level of each
employee receiving
on-the-job training.
Structured OJT -
Informal and
unstructured on-the-job
training is used in
every business. The
purpose for moving to a
structured OJT program
is to validate and
provide consistency to
the training that each
employee receives.
Without a planned and
documented approach,
instruction and
procedures are not
standardized and
trainees may learn
inconsistent or
erroneous information.
This can result in a
greater number of errors
and lower productivity.
Structured OJT involves
several components.
Structured OJT (SOJT) is
developed from the Job
Task Assessments which
identify the skills and
knowledge an individual
must know to be
qualified in their job
position. Courseware is
then developed that
documents the training
guidelines that all
trainers will use. The
courseware includes
lesson plans, trainer
guidance, training
process steps and
qualifications/skills
trainee must perform.
Train-the-OJT Trainer
helps to qualify the
instruction provided
under OJT and the
classroom course
includes adult learning
theory and styles,
components of a
structured OJT program,
and the training steps
to be used in on-the-job
instruction.
Documentation of the policies and procedures involved in the structured OJT program can be included in your Training Program manual.
